Glow Up

With Glow Up being back on, the wonderful Girl Meets Brush Academy have been running weekly challenges alongside the series. It’s been fun getting a bit creative again!

I was chuffed to win a runner up place for my option 1 entry for challenge 1 ❤️ so wanted to share a bit about the look here.

𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲:⁣

Option 1: 𝙃𝙄𝘿𝘿𝙀𝙉 𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙀𝙉𝙂𝙏𝙃⁣

“Create a makeup that shows your hidden strength, be as creative and bold as you wish here as it is a brief that is completely open to interpretation”

Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover from difficulties. I’ve realised recently that, actually, I’m pretty good at doing this. I don’t think I used to be, so perhaps it’s a learnt thing, or perhaps it was just so deeply hidden before, I don’t know. ⁣

As with everyone else I’m sure, I’ve had ups and downs and set backs - anxiety, a career I was unhappy in, covid, PND..these things had me in a pretty bad place but I fought back, with determination, grit…almost a bit of fiery rage to be honest! ⁣

I couldn’t help but think of the phoenix rising from the ashes in fiery passion ❤️‍🔥 🦅 🔥 💪🏼 ⁣ so that’s what I wanted to portray here. 

Option 2: REVERSE CAT EYE

This was taken from the episode’s Face Off  Challenge. As someone with hooded eyes I really love this technique anyway! It’s such a great way of having a dramatic wing without losing any precious lid space 😂 (couldn’t help but do a little reel/tiktok for this one..I’ll pop the link in!)
