LFW February 2023 - HMUA team application
I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen as part of the Girl Meets Brush HMUA team for the House of iKons show for last 3 seasons now and with the next season approaching I was keen to get my application in again.
In order to apply HMUAs had to:

Create a catwalk look focusing on a simple but statement makeup. The briefly is open, with choice of colours/style completely yours but we are looking for a makeup that will translate well in catwalk. You should also explain the inspo behind your look and why you have chosen it.We were allowed 2 submissions and I thought I’d share mine with you here!
Entry One
I used the GMB Cool Tone palette for this look, using a couple of the blue tones and then the white shimmer from the same palette blended out from the inner corner. I wanted to focus on the shape and symmetry of the eyes so kept the rest simple with just mascara and minimal liner smoked out under the eyes. The base is fresh and natural but with a pop of a cool toned pink blush across the cheeks and a little on the nose. I kept bronzer to a minimum (just a little around the forehead) so as not to warm things up too much, and just subtly filled in and brushed through the brows. I finished with a touch of slightly iridescent gloss on the lips. I created this as a look that would translate well on the catwalk in that the attention would be drawn to the focus point of the eyes (I’d love to see that beautiful white shimmer under the catwalk lights!) with the rest of the makeup complimenting but not pulling focus.
Entry Two
I kept the skin really simple here and focused on the blush. I applied the blush with a draping technique but coming from the eyes too rather than just down the sides of the face. For this reason I used the GMB pink tone eyeshadow palette, sweeping the single colour across the lids then building up the pigment down the face. It worked beautifully as blush! I also added a subtle reverse cat liner using a shadow from the same palette just to bring back some definition. A touch of mascara and a light pink gloss finished the look.
Let’s hope these are catwalk worthy!
